Buying Air Canada Aeroplan points

Thanks…I was looking in June next year just to Sg and it was hard to find anything - there was the odd flight out of WSI but not much else. I was also looking in Nov from Perth this year and interestingly there were flights on KrisFlyer but nothing on Aeroplan - hence the question :)

Every program has different inventory - there may be more or less SQ reward seats via VFF or AC-AP.

However, finding business reward seats from Australia to Europe between June-September will be hard, no matter which program you look for.

I just did a random search… 14, 16, 28 June all available straight through on SQ from Sydney to London in business.

I checked four dates and three were available.

6, 7, 8 June available from SYD to DOH, with onward connections to a whole bunch of cities in Europe using VA (QR operated) and onwards with MS. Only checked those three dates. That’s two seats in business.

Worked for me, for my first ever AC points purchase (using the 110% offer).

Maybe 1 - 1.5 hours ago.

That's a very good result for a first time purchase.

My first points purchase under Aeroplan took almost 48hrs - more than enough time for business reward seats to be snapped up in between purchasing and posting.

Luckily at the time the seats I was looking at were still available by the time the points posted onto the account.

Since then, I've purchased more points and luckily now they post almost immediately onto the account.

There's always outliers - but generally, it's quite difficult.

Bit the bullet and bought. Not sure the next time there'll be a 110% bonus, but I might be short on miles when that rolls around.
