I'm not biting for 80%.
Need to warn you about MK...they don't have enough planes and often there are last minute cancellations and significant delays! They said they will pay for a hotel night and dinner when our evening flight from Mru to Per was delayed til the next morning. Took 3+ months of chasing them to finally get reimbursed!I am. Have been offered 100% but only need 75% bonus for the amount I want.
Checked the value proposition.
Air Mauritius PER-MRU direct return, business, cash cost about A$6,200. Aeroplan, 120,000 miles + A$270 , which on the present offer can be bought for A$2,766. So about 1/2 price.
(I already have those miles, but want to have a stock for later.)
Need to warn you about MK..
I seemed to have 80% the first time I checked but now showing 100%. I don't know why but worth checking again.Only 80% here.I wonder how they determine which bonus to offer to people.

Are you referring to TG? They have pretty good availability to/from MEL in J the next few monthsWith TH announcing resumption of AKL flights we might see increased availability of awards, albeit from across the city through to Asia
Still just 80% here. No rhyme nor reason it seems.I seemed to have 80% the first time I checked but now showing 100%. I don't know why but worth checking again.
One of the anomalies there the two separate bounds actually work out cheaper than a stopover! Finally sorted our return from Japan for March/April 2027 after a lot of searching. It was genuinely hard to find anything that worked. Spent about 4 hours on seats.aero looking for combos that could work.
I considered a cash fare on FJ NRT-NAN-BNE for $2160 pp, but it was an overnight flight on the A330-200 and had an angled seat, not a true flat bed. No thanks.
Ideally, I wanted NRT-SYD or NRT-PER direct at 45,000 points per person, but I couldn't find even a single seat on either route. Ended up having to depart from HND instead of NRT, flying ANA/SQ through KUL into SIN. 2 nights in Singapore before heading home on SQ/VA through ADL into BNE.
Both redemptions were 45,000 points per person each way, 90,000 points per booking, 180,000 total for two passengers.
Surcharges came in at CAD $176 for the HND-SIN booking and CAD $351.60 for SIN-BNE, so CAD $527.60 all up in fees. Combined with buying 80,000 Aeroplan points at the 90% bonus sale for CAD $3,000 before the June 1 devaluation, total cash outlay is CAD $3,527.60, roughly AUD $3,587. That works out to about CAD $0.0197 per point including the bonus, or AUD $0.0215 all in before surcharges.
One other complication is that our Aeroplan PER-NRT flights at the start of the trip are a day apart, as I could only find single seats, so we're currently booked on separate flights. Hoping to pay the change fee and consolidate onto the same flight closer to departure when more ANA availability opens up.
