Buying Air Canada Aeroplan points

This may be slightly off-topic but thought that it didn't warrant its own thread: I'm unable to see my expiry when I log in: is it two years after last activity with all points expiring at the same time?

Also, as it nears expiry, can you use the points for future travel (i.e. post-expiry date) as long as no changes are required?

Yeah, two years on inactivity = expiry of all points. So it’s not rolling like SQ.

you can book future travel, i don’t see why changes wouldn’t be allowed as long as it didn’t involve a refund of points. Don’t know what happens if you were due a points refund.

Thanks @MEL_Traveller and @flyguy77 for the confirmation. I had activity in 2025, so that means that I should have until 2027 to use the points (for flights up to 2028). I'll try to use them sooner than then though.

Aeroplan wait times must be horrendous as it is not even allowing me to hold, getting a we cannot connect you to an agent because of exceptional call volume. Hopefully someone can answer this for me as I only have another 7 hours before I can cancel my back up booking for free.

I have a ticket EWR to SIN with a stopover of 14 days and then SIN to BNE - all one ticket, just used the great stopover rule of an additional 5000 points. Can I discard the first segment of EWR to SIN but keep the SIN to BNE segment and get the difference in points refunded? I don't want to lose the SIN to BNE segement.

Thanks for any help

To answer my own question - no issues, If there is 2 flights listed as Flight 1 and Flight 2,, very unlikely to be married segments if stopover is more than 2 days. . Wait time for Aeroplan call centre over 2 hours and had to ring 5 times over a day to actually get through, they were not even letting people wait as call volumes were so high. Phoned 10.30pm Brisbane time
