Buying Air Canada Aeroplan points

Anyone have a rough idea how much 25k points costs, assuming bought with a 80%+ bonus? By my calculations, it's about 500AUD. Working out whether this is a better way for a one-way SIN-Australia on Turkish airlines/SQ. Thanks.
Yeah… rough rule of thumb is 2c aussie per point. Give or take a faction of a cent depending on the bonus level you get and the current exchange rate. But I always work on 2c for ease of calculation.

For economy? Maybe SQ? They have a huge range of drinks and good IFE. If you’re familiar with SQ and wanna try something different… try TK.

Turns out there was only 1 available seat, not 2. All good. Will keep the points for the next trip.

On my offer to get 25,000 points the only step you can get that is total of 32,000 points ( 20K plus 12K bonus) and that’s in the 60% bonus band.

Cost is CAD$750

Good point rooflyer… I made the assumption of cost based on the max promo rates, not for buying at the lower bonus rates.

Always handy to have some points in reserve for last minute travel, or to snap up seats when they become available.

You should have received a 90% bonus offer this morning, so long in and do a dummy transfer

Quick question. I have been an Aeroplan member for 3 years but haven't used the program. I am about to purchase a considerable amount of points with the 90% promo. I want to use those points to book 2 Business Class flights for my parents from Asia to Australia.

Can I book these flights for them from my account and use their details for passenger info or do I need to setup Family pooling, then invite them to join up with Aeroplan in order to book Award seats for them?

If I have to go the family pooling route how hard is the verification requirements now with passports etc using the app and can I then book these award seats straight away for my parents or do I or they need to wait for x amount of months before a award booking can be made?

I've used my account to book flights for my parents numerous times with no issues.

@Spizz - your parents do not need Aeroplan accounts. There is a possibility that since you have never used your account and just bought points AC may consider this fraud - but assuming your parents have the same last name as yourself (which of course may not be the case) you should be fine. (In recent times AC has "cracked down" on transactions (particularly from Asia) which were considered fraudulent (i.e. people selling award seats) and even suspended family pooling for some time . You could try calling Aeroplan and just asking the agent to book over the phone (for a fee) or checking if they would flag the booking as fraudulent.
