Wife has said 20mins a day is enough on any site

Hmm 20 minutes a day , does that rule apply fo things other than net use?

Most men (and some women) would be happy with that amount of time on that regular a basis.

Apologies to the OP for going totally OT, but my wife reasons 20mins a day is sufficient on any site; including keeping abreast of news, creating/ maintaining friendships, or making new enemies etc etc. I'm not in finance nor in need of instant information and thus tend to agree.

However, I appreciate that when we're travelling and away from home (especially in different timezones) that sites such as this provide a wonderful sense of normality. For that I am grateful, and hopefully can contribute in some way in the future when I'm sitting in a lounge and have more time.

Indeed you can.

My wife told me yesterday that if I wanted to sell out of my business, sell the house and move to (say, Lennox Head) to set up a travel agency, she'd think that was okay. and support me...I think she wants a sea change :shock: and have the opportunity to walk along the beach every day.

Then I said her 20 mins was up.

Wouldn't be such a bad idea. I have been thinking about buying/starting a travel agency when I semi retire in 4-5 years time.

The newbies quickly got experience, did things differently and better and delivered a product that customers wanted. In many ways their lack of experience contributed to their success, because it didn't constrain their thinking.

I really like this comment and agree that sometimes lack of experience can be a good thing (although a good idea to have access to someone with experience as well). My opinion is that in a highly competitive industry doing things differently is a good way to stand out and be successful.

Hey if nobody innovated and found new ways of doing things we would still be living in caves and not have even invented the wheel yet.

That's the balancing act; being both experienced and willing to try new things. In today's vernacular I believe they're called "cougars".
