Hey all,

I just booked a flight from LAX to MCO on Virgin America using Velocity points. It was a business reward, but I'm not sure what sort of seat that will get me on the flight. There are 2 rows of first class seat and another 8 rows of main cabin select class. I am hoping that it will be first, but suspect it might be main cabin select. Does anyone know the answer?

Thanks

It will be first class (the white recliners). Generally speaking VA Y 'maps' to VX Main Cabin, VA Y+ maps to VX Main Cabin Select (or at least the new Main Cabin Express) and VA J maps to VX F.

Most two class domestic services in the US call the premium cabin 'First.' Very few domestic flights in the US have a 'business class.'

If it was a business reward, it ought to be in First on VX. Can you get the VX PNR? If so, maybe see if you can do seat selection on the VX website (I'm assuming this will work..)

Awesome, thanks guys. I actually haven't received a ticket (or any confirmation) yet. I'll try to find the PNR when I get it. Thanks for your replies!

Did you have to phone to make the booking? If so, how was the process, availability, points/price? I've only ever booked a USA domestic leg with points as part of a long haul booking and so would love to hear anyone's experience with stand alone usa domestic points bookings.

I'm impressed you were able to get velocity to book even over the phone given all their woes at the moment. I would be keen to to know how many points+taxes required. Is it any more than velocity rewards on Delta? I imagine VX has the better product.
