If you were going to take a premium cabin "Classic Reward" trip to Singapore, which of the following airlines/aircraft types would be your preference, and why?

Ex-BNE
EK433 BNE 0235 - SIN 0235 777-300ER
QF51 BNE 1200 - SIN 1755 A330-300

Ex-SYD
QF81 SYD 1115 - SIN 1630 A330-300
BA16 SYD 1630 - SIN 2130 777-200/300
QF5 SYD 1715 - SIN 2230 A330-300

Ex-MEL
QF35 MEL 1220 - SIN 1725 A330-300
QF37 MEL 1710 - SIN 2215 A330-200
EK405 MEL 1900 - SIN 2350 A380-800

So which airline has amazing first class or free limo transfers or an awesome first class lounge which will blow my mind and gives you free massages and things... I'm thinking I can't beat the Emirates A380 out of Melbourne, but maybe I'm wrong, maybe some of those other flights/aircraft types have the same amazing luxury?

This is part of a leisure trip I'm formulating and I have tonnes of options for leaving Oz but I don't know what I don't know... This would be my first F seat, I'm madly saving up miles as fast as I can, I don't think I want to settle for Business ex-BNE (I don't think either of the BNE direct options have a first class?? But very happy to be proven wrong!) so I am happy to reposition for a better aircraft type and my first F flight experience.

Many thanks in advance for any replies

QF don't fly First Class to SIN anyway, so that'll limit your choice to being on EK metal only.

EK A380 ex MEL is the best choice

not an option to SIN, they only fly 77W.

It's a relatively short sectore. IMHO I'd go for whichever airport is closer to home though SYD and MEL obviously have the better F lounges (if flying in F or a QF WP/ONE to have access).

Personally I'd avoid the flights arriving too late into SIN. I quite like the daytime or early afternoon flights, but it's all relative I guess.

on QF you won't get F, but you're likely to get the new Business Suite product - at least out of SYD/MEL and that would be fairly nice. EK J is quite acceptable, though if can get F that would be very nice too (though the 380 is far more fun in F for the shower/bar, but not an option to/from SIN).

and of course it all depends on availability

So..
a) There are no First Class flights to SIN on QF or EK.
b) it appears the OP is travelling on reward seats and isn't OWE so will not have F Lounge Access if flying in Business

Looks like business from BNE and Business lounge access is the likely outcome. Unless a J flight from either SYD/MEL and guest access into the F Lounge can be arranged.

I didn't realise EK didn't have F to SIN.

What about BA ex SYD? They have F don't they?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The QF and EK websites would differ with you... bearing in mind I'm searching dates in Nov 16 for Award seat availability and they both show an A380 with F class available....

EK will upgrade MEL-DXB via SIN to A380.

The dates your searching for are after the change to an A380 with F offering, currently EK fly the 77W.

Even on the 777-300ER they offer F.

Hey they do...thats right. RichardMel has thrown a curveball!

ETA..sorry the post was specifying that at present an A380 doesn't do EK MEL-SIN, nothing about F

SO...there are F options to SIN from MEL via EK
and potentially BA also

I'll just sit in the corner and be silent.

Both options (77W and A380) are offering F according to a couple of sample bookings on the EK website.

Given the lounge is a large part of the experience for the shortish sector to SIN, it looks like either BA ex Syd, or EK ex Mel - with the EK F product probably superior.

Okay so it looks like that's my only option then, the QF flights don't do F to SIN.
How about the BA flight, would it do F from Syd?

Looking like I'm going via Melbourne then! Thanks so much all for helping me out so quickly!

Next question : if I were to book the award seat ex BNE then QF will throw in a flight down to MEL for me to connect to the EK. That would only be in J of course.
I'd have access to the lounge in BNE on my award seat yes? And then again in MEL I can get into the Emirates lounge?

How about the chauffeur drive... would I be entitled to that from my home in BNE suburbs to the BNE airport to begin my journey? Or is that only for Melbournites?

Many thanks folks, you're all so quick off the bat :)

Sorry folks - I was unaware (obviously :) ) of the upcoming EK upguage. Well that's a great option then (I may consider it myself :D ) - useful to know. CURRENTLY they only fly the 77W, but F is an option on that anyway.

re BA F - most reports say the product is underwhealming and the service spotty but everyone's mileage may vary.

aside: I have recently flown SQ F and Suites between east coast (MEL/SYD) and SIN and those were excellent flights, but absolutely fine in J on any carrier given the 7-8 hour length. though I would definitely pick the 380 when it's on the route in F on EK - showers and the bar down the back and a good timing to enjoy it all.

Oh and BA F product not that great either...

LOL okay then I might stick to the EK flights!
I must admit, the snooping I did on the BA website yesterday led me to believe that BA F would be my last choice... :)
