We have a whole day in the lounge. It’s actually worked out quite well as I am working a full day on the Mac computers available (after a nice shower this morning). It’s even quieter than I thought it would be

Looking forward to following along. Sounds like your Cathay flights were very good.

They were both really good. Lots of empty seats which I guess gave the crew more time to look after us. And my wife and I had window seats one behind the other. Row 17 and 18 on the A350 have 2 windows

The lounge staff were so chatty. I figure they were so bored because it was quiet!

Another little funny moment I forgot to write about was our short JetBlue flight from JFK to MVY. It’s 40 minutes I think so basically like CBR-SYD. The staff were so good explaining there are two snack options and soda. No hot drinks we don’t have time. Make your choice now so you’re ready as we won’t get time to serve you all if you’re slow. The 20 something behind me is one of the first to be served “do you have coffee?” I laughed so hard. Then she asked how to get on wifi. 😂 the hostess just blankly told her how to do it while handing out our drinks. Wifi instructions were written on the seat card of course. And this pax had just boasted how she brought a carryon bag despite not paying for it. I then heard all about her dating life etc as she loudly chatted to her friend. It kept me entertained! 🙃

Little jog around town. Love doing this to explore foreign cities from a different perspective - and cover some ground quickly. I jogged the highline for a bit but was dodging too many tourists such as my good self so jumped off it fairly quickly

Driving range at Chelsea pier

On and off we spent 18 months in NYC as our son worked there and we had a time share in the Hilton.
Still didn’t see everything though did a lot of non tourist things. We normally visited in the colder days so I had my long black coat and looked like a local. Often got asked for directions by tourists and mostly knew the answer.

Whirlwind trip
The Air France and prime class lounges in JFK 1 were both pretty average but we took in the best of each. Good champagne in AF lounge!

Made up my own dessert with green tea and Japanese whisky as the tomato panna cotta was gross!
