Really? My old ute is still in the paddock keeping watch on the grasses, it ran out of reg was asked by the QLD motor vehicles dept if I was going to reg it I ignored the letter then 6 months later was advised that the car was no longer registered, really? they than ask me to return the plates, in my head the answer was Fu** off stop wasting my time after a few more letters of demand for the plates and afew more Fu** offs in my head the plates are still on the car in the paddock and that was 5 years ago, lol I hate bureaucrats. Time is money you want the plates you pay my price $250 cash.

Going to the Wildcats game tonight in Perth, they have two multiple barrels tshirt guns and about six individual tshirt guns. I wonder if the fun police will stop them

And let's look at this from the other perspective.
A person is pinged driving an unregistered vehicle. They whinge they weren't told the rego had expired and that the useless government department should have told them. A Current Affair runs with the story about useless government departments not doing their job by telling people the bleeding obvious.
A little while later a car with stolen number plates is used in a crime and the police go to the last registered owner who said 'no we couldn't be bothered surrendering the plates' RMS is useless and they harassed us.
Now the last registered owner has to explain who might have had access to the vehicle and can they prove they didn't commit the crime etc.
Then the last registered owner whinges about the police, RMS et al.
So as you whinge about 'bureaucrats' doing their job remember that there is a reason for it even if you want to be pig headed and act in an ignorant manner.
Not many rules are there because of a desire to make life hard. They are introduced because something happened, someone whinged to the Murdoch media, an avoidable incident occurred such as a crime including fraud and so on.
Some of the stories here fit in well with the DYKWIA thread, the poster believes they are above the law and seek to ridicule the department required to enforce them.
