Bumped off Qantas; rebooked by American Airlines; how to get QFF points?

Looked through the FAQ and didn't find this topic.

I am currently in PNG; and will be passing through Brisbane next month. I missed my originating Qantas flight in Dallas (due to mechanical failure on connecting flight and thus American's fault) and was rebooked by American Airlines; so new boarding pass for later flight had AA flight # on it.

I can't seem to get Qantas points by requesting missing points online since I only have a boarding pass with AA flight #; but ticket was originally booked and paid for a Qantas ticket so I will attempt a claim via post.

I really don't want AA credit; and there are only phone #s for QFF support on their website.

Need help finding the service center address in Melbourne. Also, how do I send something from transit in the Brisbane airport, and are my original boarding pass / other documents secure (does service center "lose" things often)?

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried ringing them, often it works!

Please tell this American how one calls 13 11 31* (from web site info)? Is there an 800 in front? If I use a pay phone, how much money do I need? I do not have international cell phone coverage; so I have US phone when home and a PNG phone when in PNG; and nothing while in transit in Brisbane airport.

I guessed that if I called, I would just be told to mail documents to them.

Many of the AFF members here have had similar issues and had them resolved via the phone with no further mail in required, hence my suggestion to ring them!

Given the logistical difficulties in using snail mail and telephone (although numbers that should work from anywhere in the world have now been supplied), you may want to email them.

Send an email to [email protected], attaching scans (or smart phone photos) of the boarding pass, along with details of the original booking, and request original routing credit for the flight as booked. I've always had success with this (although it has taken a while in some cases).

Thanks to everyone ... some good advice! I much prefer email and scans if that will work! Had a lot of important mail go missing over the years ...

If email doesn't work, I will call from US when I get back home.
