I'm going to be in Queensland checking out some potential business opportunities in October,I'll be in Brisbane from the 14th to the 21st.
I would love to catch up again with the people I met in March which included Mal,Taezar, ozbeachbabe and Rob,samh004,Bundy Bear, awilcockson and trippintherift.
A few others couldn't make it that night but it would be great if we could make a night of it,the 19th is my 51st birthday so if anyone fancies a get together that week I'd love to meet a few more Brisbane dwellers.
Cheers

Wednesday 19th of October sounds fine to me.

Which location, The Mill or Irish Murphy's

Sounds good to me, although I can't do 14th-16th Oct.

I think Mon/Tue/Wed nights are good nights to catch up (as long as the beer can clear before work the next day!) as places are generally quieter than the other nights. Horrible trying to talk over lots of other background noise.

Irish Murphys was good last time but I'm happy to go with any other suggestions.
Will be great to catch up with you again Bundy Bear:)
Cheers

Sounds fine. If regular Brisbane drinks are on the 19th then I would prefer the Mill.

I will not be going to any drinks night organised for Irish Murphys as it is not suitable for a drinks venue if you want a conversation....

Oh IM's would be great. Upstairs is awesome before 9pm. If we can have an early-ish dinner it leaves more time for catching up!

I agree with IMs and the early dinner!

Or perhaps, just maybe, and assuming I can work it out, we might have another much cheaper venue for the first 3 hours of celebrating before the hardcore head back into the city to continue the party. <ninja smiley>

I would not be overdoing the welcome ;)

Enjoy drinks.

I will not be attending nor will I be attending Brisbane drinks again....

So far it looks OK for me to go. Not picky on venue; I'll go with the people's choice.

Nigelinoz, having missed you last time, I will be making a bigger effort to meet you this time! Looking forward to it...

IMs upstairs is fine (food is good, and I love my Irish beers), but as soon as they close the restaurant area (9pm?), the only other location is the pokie cellar with the thump, thump from upstairs.

I spent some time thinking about this recently, but can't come up with anywhere else (in the city) that doesn't have that problem, apart from hotel bars (yuck) and some of the overpriced yuppy/cub bars by the river. Eg Fridays does good meals (and not too badly priced if eating in the outside area), but starts getting pretty busy by 9.

Spring Hill does have some (eg St Pauls, International, Spring Hill hotel, and of course the perennial choice), as does some of the places in Southbank/West End way (eg around Southbank,, perhaps the Fox downstairs area etc).

Anyways, something for people to think about.

We could always go to the fox after having a bite at a nearby QFF restaurant :)

Haven't been to the fox before, but always up for trying somewhere new. Need to dig out the list of Brisbane QFF restaurants and see what's available, sounds like a good idea.
