Hoe to see everyone there....

apologies from me, i can't scam a work trip this time! Lol!

I'm not sure how good value this is, but £2.90 a pint of Guinness here in Chesterfield. Couldn't get a shot if 4 together for the scavenger hunt though.

I wouldn't say that's bad value. Can't remember how much Guinness cost me the last time I drank it in Brisbane, but a pint is never cheap in Brisbane, period, let alone something premium like Guinness.

As for Bastille Day, should be alright to come for now but schedules are always changing so better indication will probably be on the day itself.

I'm very likely to attend.

£2.90 is a pretty good price. One of my locals had £2 pints, but the decor was 'interesting'. The "regulars" were even more interesting.

Either way, I doubt you'd get a pint of Guinness in Australia for less than $7 or so.

...and 'pints' seem to have done an incredible shrinking act in the last few years.

Sounds like you've experience drinking in south oz where a pint is a schooner and a schooner is a pot.

Only 2 days to go before the next drinks night.

I will be giving xx_X Gold a break as I am back on the low carb beer. Interesting that a stubby of xx_X Gold has ~7.0g of carbohydrate (sugar) where as a stubby of Pure Blonde has ~3.2g of carbohydrate (sugar).

I think they have been tinkering with the taste of Pure Blonde recently. Anyone noticed any other beers with equal or less carbohydrates?

Looking forward to it, I might even bring Sze Sze along, depends if she has work or not.

Also, there wont be a Twitter update on Wednesday to remind you Bundy Bear as I haven’t put credit on my phone, seeing as I’m hitting NZ on Saturday. How will I get by without the internet in my pocket?

You'll cope. ;) :)

I guess you're not getting a NZ SIM. Uh oh...what did I just do...

I haven't tracked carbs but I recall having a pure blonde version of boags recently, I think. There might also be a beer that is called "clear" something, but that could be a coopers so probably not available in lesser states

All beers are low carb by comparison to most drink/food, its a marketing ploy, if you compare kilojoules between a "low carb" and a normal beer you will see what I mean. The average carb loading of a beer is 6g (Guiness tips the scales at 17.6g), and its not going to stop your body burning alcohol before the fat.

Totally agree. I've always maintained that it's not beer that makes one fat but the bar snacks. SWMBO remains unconvinced despite years of empirical evidence right in front of her. lol

How about Hahn Superdry?

I am sure you will somehow manage to survive without internet access for a few hours.

Not too worried about the calories. It is the carbohydrate that is an issue if trying to stay under 60g of carbohydrate/day.

How about Hahn Superdry?
Not a big fan of this beer. I am not sure about the carbs in it though.

Unfortunately i can't make this round of drinks.

However as I will be in sydney i shall have a drink for you (And I'll find a low carb beer John! ;))

I will probably see you on Friday anyway. From memory Qantas Lounges only have Pure Blonde as the low-carb beer.
