Is it the same gate as the AirNZ air bridge incident?A Qantas flight from New Zealand that had just touched down in Brisbane had its windscreen shattered after it was hit by an airbridge on Wednesday evening.
QF186 from Queenstown landed at Brisbane shortly after 6.30pm (local time) and a Facebook post by Brisbane Incident Alerts reported that “while positioning at the gate, the aerobridge made contact with the aircraft, resulting in the front windscreens being shattered.”
is there anything you can do?
Looks like this could have been a zipper merge, where the vehicle in front has right of way...... so maybe the bridge driver had right of way?Same air bridge driver?

Same air bridge driver?
I'm guessing it wasn't where it is in the photos or else the captain wouldn't be able to see the distance positioning information display because his view of that would be blocked by the air bridge.I wonder where the bridge was, when the aircraft came in?
Say a very loud WTF and then put your hands over your eyes to shield them from flying glass. For our pilots: if you see that this is going to occur, is there anything you can do? Or is it a situation where you brace and hope you're not injured?
I hadn't made the link - but you are right! Mind you I don't think that the bridge on the Warrego Highway had a lot of say in its troubles!Could someone explain what is happening in Queensland recently? It seems like anything related to a bridge is now going on strike be it on the Warrego Highway, or at Brisbane Airport with an NZ bird and now a QF bird. I think it's time for the government to come to table and negotiate with the bridges on these labour disputes. Enough is enough!

Given the very slow speed you do have to wonder how the hell they can screw up so badly - twice - in the space of a few weeks! How you end up with an aerobridge in front of the windscreen instead of at the door really boggles the mind...The speed aerobridges move at, I’m reminded of the Austin Powers steamroller scene …

I was watching a show about Melb airport last week.., a dunny dumper truck reversed parked into a airbus. You would think as it was there to empty the jet, that it would have looked around for the jet when reversing under the jetGiven the very slow speed you do have to wonder how the hell they can screw up so badly - twice - in the space of a few weeks! The whole problem with Australia is that we have put so many safeguards in place to stop dumb people exiting the gene pool - and this is the result...I was watching a show about Melb airport last week.., a dunny dumper truck reversed parked into a airbus.
