Stomping Ground, who run the pop-up beer garden between T3 and 4, will be opening their third brewery in T3. Travellers will be able to choose from more than 20 locally-brewed beers when passing through the airport – up to four brewed onsite.

Nice to see something contemporary being put in at MEL, however two thoughts spring immediately to mind:

1. I dread to think how much a pint will cost

2. In the era of “flight rage” and the occasional flight diversion as a result, i’m Not sure a pub at the airport sends the right message (whilst realising it’s such a tiny % of the pax that cause that sort of incident......). Will be great material for the <insert your preferred tabloid> when the first pax who gets rollickingly drunk and causes and “incident” onboard a flight ex-MEL.......

Perhaps # 1 will reduce the risk of #2......
