Breeze & maybe Rex ?

I see the problem.

You want nice shiny aircraft. Good route structure. Frequency. And cheap.

Pick one.
It's easy.Cheap wins nearly every time. That gives you the right to criticise the lack of the other 3.

with Breeze about to shake up the aviation market in U.S., wonder if the likes of Rex have considered getting some E195s or A220s ?

With Qantas encrouching on Rex territory & Rex needing to find new aircraft in the next 5-10 years, wonder if they would consider some very cheap jets (E195s) or very efficient jets A220s.

It seems Breeze are getting their E195s from Azul for almost nothing, that they might only fly them 5 hours a day, not every day of the week & the cost per seat of the A220s seem incredibly low or the same as much bigger aircraft, so they can do missions that wouldn't be viable with larger aircraft. Lots of thin routes out there, both domestically & internationally.

Or will Qantas or Virgin or Air NZ get some ?
Rex execs have committed to the Saabs for some years yet. The chairmans said very recently that the US military has a supply contract with SAAB which will ensure they can keep flying for some time.
But they have talked about leasing A320s and 737s if they fly domestically (not too likely I think).

I recently flew back from New Zealand in a quite new A320 neo. Then in a Rex plane for 40 minutes. The Rex seat itself was at least as good, with maybe slightly less, but not much less, leg room. The new A320s are all about squashing pax in (or they were..). I fly a lot here and in the US, and I really don't have any issue with the SAABs for short haul basic transport.
Many critics miss the overall picture, of a company that makes a consistent profit (which is just another way fo saying they will reliably be around for a long time), which enables them to provide essential service to many places that Qantas will never serve.
