After years of grumbling, I rocked up at the CBR J lounge today and asked for a bourbon and dry, expecting the usual Jim Beam rubbish. And then I saw him pick up the hallowed black bottle. That's right folks, Jack Daniels is the new standard "bourbon*" in the J lounge :)

Apparently quite a few of the spirits have been upgraded.

*the pedants amongst us will now that JD is not actually a bourbon ...

This must be where the savings on (non service of Champagne in J on trans tasman are now being allocated

Tanqueray or Bombay gin would be good, but I find Hendricks has too much of a cucumber flavour - reminds me of Pimms!
Hendricks is distilled with Cucumbers. A G&T with Hendricks, and a slice of Red Capsicum (Bell Pepper). Much nicer!

As for Sapphire, I'd rather not Gin. It's a little tasteless for me (I'll stick to Tanq as my standard:)).

Personally I think QF should serve Hendricks, its freely available in the AC's with a drink chit :)
I'm in the LAX T4 Flagship Lounge and no sign of Hendricks, so I'm trying a Knob Creek instead. And what is this "drink chit" you speak of ;)

Yeah that's a +1 for me for Coke Zero as well...

I think some of that with JW Gold or Blue would go down nicely if i could ever find some in one of the lounges... ;)

I've said it already. Red coke is the real thing. I'll turn to coke + water before going near zero or diet.

It's Makers Mark or nothin'!

And by nothin', I mean copious amounts of whatever sparkling or dry white is lying around ... or vodka ...

Isn't vodka covered by dry white? :D

I prefer zero over diet. Zero for me has a better taste then diet.
So it is an individual preference and either way someone will be disappointed?

Oh wait. It is possible to stock both and that way no disappointments.

You're all missing the best possible Gin - Tanq 10 - hands down.

Sadly they don't even serve that in CL!

I agree it's all personal preference as to what you enjoy - however where do you draw the line on what to stock and what not to stock?

Please add a decent Scotch to the line up, better even a cheap single malt. Anything would be better than that vile Chivers they currently got
