There was hot food in the SYD J Dom Lounge on the 28th of May (When l started my repositioning for a NAN J Run). Because l don't frequent the J Lounge often, l just thought that it was the norm. They only had chicken cacciatore and rice in a chafing dish plus and some meat pies and other canapes (arancini, vegetarian spring rolls etc etc). I didn't even bother with the chicken cacciatore as it really looked like chicken pieces in gravy, not a tomato base, with olives and capsicum (how it is meant to be).

PER Dom QP also has hot food as there is no J Lounge.

I believe this topic was more addressing hot food in the morning. (Apart from pikelets, toast and pastries, which don't really count.)

Hot food during lunch and evenings (besides soup) in the J Lounges (and indeed standard QPs) has been in for a very long time now.

I was in MEL DOM J Saturday morning and  I had a hot breakfast again! This is great and I commend Qantas for upping their ante and increasing their offerings not only to suit business travelers (M-F), but it would seem the weekend J or premium PAX travelers as well.

Today (Tue) I was in the MEL DOM J lounge around lunch time, and I had a beautiful quiche and a couple of slices (not small offerings either) of salami with buffalo cream cheese pizza - yummy to say the least.

The bar has been raised and I am impressed.

I have had a hectic 2 weeks of traveling, I have spent time in lounges in MEL, Hobart, Launceston and Adelaide (where I am now less than 24 hours from the previous visit awaiting a flight to PER) so having the CSM today on my MEL/ADL flight come into Y (5F with 5E vacant as well as 4 from 6 row 4 seats) and personally greeted me, offered me a news paper and pillow if I wanted one... was delightful and the look of "how do you get that service" from PAX in 5D was priceless :)

The thread title says nothing about breakfast, why have a go at someone for reporting an observation that is in line with the title, if not the first post  ? Hardly OT!

If we are going to discourage a diverse range of observations then its going to get pretty boring around here pretty quickly! How many people reading this have never experienced what is served in the evening in the J lounge who might be travelling soon and have access for an evening flight, and are doing some research on what to expect, the title would seem to indicate the possibility of some useful information that is current.

Is this a delayed reaction markis?

From the discussion in the first few posts of this thread, it is very obvious that the topic was the breakfast menu. Neither anat0l or I had a go at anyone. ...

Whats that got to do with menu changes ;), I been trying to work out why some newer member have let me know they no longer wish to contribute, I welcome a diverse range of inputs and views, it seems that view may not be shared by all! So be it!

It must have been Ground Hog day - I had hardly settled in my 7F seat (7E empty) for ADL/PER when the CSM wandered up, greeted me by name and offered me a paper! She also did the same to about 4 other PAX in the area before disappearing to her den in the J cave...

I asked a bar lady at the ADL QP if their menu's had changed for breakfast. She said there were little enhancements across the board, but nothing significant. Interesting... PER getting the new tech to try out, MEL getting the hot food for breaky....

Pity PER isn't getting the new breakfast now as I will be there next Wednesday for my early morning flight home via ADL.

Of course, there's no J lounge at ADL anyway. Interesting that there have been little QP changes though.

I don't know if there is a new thread on this but I must say I do like what QF have done with the J breakfast menu.

Yes it's not the best scrambled eggs and sausages but a massive step up from before. It's about at the quality of a 3.5 star hotel breaky... very happy with that, for once good one QF.

Were is this mythical breakfast? I didn't see it in the BNE J lounge on a Saturday morning. Is it only SYD and MEL and then only weekdays?

And CBR - very nice hot ATA breakfast on Saturday - theres a pic on the link in my signature!

I'm also glad they've still maintained the healthy options alongside the hot breakfast :)

If not in the MEL JL by 8:45 - the breakfast is gone.

The other week it lasted in CBR until 8:55am.

I think that l posted on this before (25th December) and did I did find the Hot Breakfast in the BNE J Lounge.

On offer were - scrambled egg and some sort of mixed bean (half cooked...) concoction in a napoli sauce. No mushrooms, bacon or sausage.

I'm in the QF J Lounge in BNE. There is no difference between the J Lounge and the QP at this time of the morning.

No hot breakfast.
No barista service.
Toast, fruit, yogurt. (same as the regular QP)

QF, please lift your game. WP has really lost that 'wow' factor.

My bad. There was some scrambled egg and some sort of bean concoction.

It was there last Saturday for the wake attendees, however fresh Barista coffee proved to be more of a drawcard to the attendees who moved to the DJ lounge. If it were Bacon & Egg muffins instead I would expect it to be a harder choice!

The hot breakfast option in the J lounge was pathetic. There was eggs scrambled and a type of bean in a tomato type sauce. There was the occasional small piece of ham in that dish - although it was more akin to the type of ham you find in a pea'n'ham soup than anything of edible relevance.

No barista coffee was another negative for the Qantas J lounge.

There were also the usual toasts, some croissants, the usual yoghurt/muesli options etc.

I haven't been in a domestic Qantas Lounge at breakfast time for a long time. Good to see there is a hot food option instead of the normal muesli and croissants. Actually come to think of it I was in the MEL Business Lounge in November and don't remember hot food options. Perhaps I was in there too early.

I like scrambled eggs so is there any chance Qantas can have the breakfast menu in the evenings as well to replace what is on offer now? After all I shouldn't be disadvantaged for flying in the evenings. ;)
