Can anyone tell me the approximate % or number of Platinum,Gold,Silver,Bronze FF members Qantas has?
Or if the % breakdown is fairly consistent across all carrier schemes?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I doubt that Qantas would publish this information. At best one may presume that the majority of members are bronze. Try searching AFF as there was an online poll where members selected which tier they belong to. This may show you the breakdown of AFF readers which IMHO will be have more Platinum and Gold members than society in general.

As far as the % breakdown across all carrier schemes one can imagine that they would all have the bulk of their members in the base entry tier. Having said that if you look at the requirements across different carriers there are different standards across them so someone that is a Platinum in the QFF scheme may not be in the highest tier in another scheme as they may have different criteria e.g. Miles flown, number of flights etc.

My opinion is that the majority of members, especially those who joined after 2009, are in the Bronze section.

Many of the Bronze members (including me) aren't frequent flyers. We joined QFF as part of Everyday Rewards and convert points into Gift cards to use at Woolworths. Some Everyday Rewards members are frequent flyers and have used the bonus QFF points for flights, but I'm guessing the majority of people joined QFF via Everyday Rewards as a way of saving money on groceries.

Back when QF was first thinking of selling its FF program some info was released.
At the time, from memory, Plat was 60,000 of 6 million.

Agree that most of the 4mill members since then aren't likely to be big flyers

This has also been discussed a number of times on this forum. Search is your friend

I heard a figure of about 3,000 P1s a while ago. Of course I couldn't verify it then or now.

I think 1%-1.5% Platinum was the number mentioned when there were ~6 million QFF members. I don't think we ever saw a breakdown for the other tiers.

That was the original estimate. I think that number swelled beyond expectations due to various reasons.
