I just went back to the site I ordered mine and its now saying no, looks like the hole has closed!

It was never going to last. Even if Amazon didn't stop it, I'm sure someone in Canberra is busy coming up with a way to ban all overseas online purchases so that Australia can preserve it's number one ranking as most overpriced country in the world.

At least Bose have dropped the Australian Price to $399 (from $499). Still nowhere near as good as USA price of $299 with our dollar worth $1.07 US

I bought a new pair last month in USA for 326 inc tax. 399au inc gst is a good price IMO

I have reported the following on another AFF Post :-

"My QC2 have been shedding small black flecks of padding material from the earcup and now also the headband. I replaced the padded earcups with a kit from Bose some months ago however I have now discovered that Bose do not have a kit for the headband - do not despair as there is a way forward. I am currently in the USA and visited a Bose store and was advised that I could exchange my QC2 to QC15 for US$99 - Bose accept responsibility for selling a faulty product - no brainer and the deal was done - will be interesting to see how these perform compared to the old ones."

Could be another option for some.

In the Feb edition of American Way you can get 1200 bonus miles when purchasing the QC15s.....:)

$299 through the Bose store with free shipping and 1200 bonus miles :)

On a headphone related topic, on QF 467 (A330) coming home last night, I had my iPod in ear headphones plugged into the jack of the armrest, and the FA told me im not allowed to use a single plug headset in a double plug jack.... she then gave me some QF headphones to use, I asked why, she said, "its company policy"

My ipod ones fit really well in my ears and wore working fine in both ears.

Go figure.....

Strange. But you can buy an adaptor for $5 to $10 to solve the problem.

Have you got a link for purchase? I could only find the standard 2 points per $ aa.com link. Thanks.

I had a look - and when went to purchase the possible address for sending was limited to the US and its dependencies - which, contrary to what some might think or want - does not include Australia. Have you purchased any?

Use Shipito.com or myus.com to re-ship to AU.

I tried purchasing through bose.com last year to a US address and it was flagged as an AU credit card, which stopped me in my tracks.

It didn't stop AA points from posting, however...

I will try it in the next day or two as soon as my pay goes in.

If it doesn't work - I will use my US debit card.

EDIT: Just bought them on the bose 6 month payment plan. Worked fine.

Perhaps try the "El Segundo" method if it doesn't work........might be best to make your billing address the same as your shipping address perhaps.....

I bought a pair for $299 USD via Amazon (using my UK Amex), delivery courtesy of a fellow AFFer who was heading over to LON from JFK

Ahh, understand, bit of a PITA, maybe Bose are trying to keep Gerry happy!
