I meant in contrast to QF who have let several of their key agreements expire simultaneously - hence the ability of their workers to take protected industrial action.

They didn't let then expire, the discussions have bee going on for a year..

Of course they let them expire. To take Protected industrial Action you must have had your original agreement expire. Qantas have clearly chosen to let agreements with 3 separate parts of their workforce expire at the same time - i think it is because, as i've said above and as seems to be confirmed by today's events, they are seeking a confrontation to break the unions. We can debate whether or not its a good strategy but it's clearly a deliberate one.
