Bookings that earn Qantas Business Rewards points don't qualify for a Qantas Price Promise

It seems new to me. In the past I've received Qantas Business Rewards points but could still submit a successful Qantas Price Promise. Those were for standard Qantas fares that were not discounted in any way by being a member of QBR - so not the "member fares" as they are now called.

Not any more.

From the Qantas Price Promise Team after submitting a Price Promise on a standard priced "sale" fare ticket :

Unfortunately Qantas Business Rewards bookings – where the fare does not attract an upfront discount – are ineligible as these still attract exclusive offers. These bookings earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points for the traveller plus Qantas Business Rewards Points for the business. Although the price is not discounted, these are exclusive fare that are only available to members of the QBR program.

It seems to do with the recent changes in the on-line booking process. When initiating a new on-line booking for QBR members, if I you click your name instead of "A personal flight" under "I'm booking for:" it automatically brings up the Qantas Business Rewards prices on some fare types and automatically inserts an ABN into the booking. Even if you select a non-discounted standard offer fare your booking will not qualify for a Qantas Price Promise.

Have you tired not linking to QBR and adding ABN later.

I suspect that might work. To try next time.

My "beefs" I suppose are:

1. There's no mention that I can find in the T&Cs that excludes a booking that might earn Qantas Business Rewards points from a Price Promise.
2. It's a new on-line booking system "enhancement" that now links QBR to QFF and adds the ABN into the booking automatically.
3. Even if you selected a special QBR fare (which I didn't), that would actually reduce any Price Promise fare difference.

I have now just noted also that once you book a flight with the new "enhancement" that links QBR to QFF and adds the ABN into the booking automatically, there's no on-line way to then delete or replace that ABN.

So I guess I'm going to have some pending Price Promises rejected... :(

After asking where in the T&Cs does it state that QBRs are excluded, the Price Promise team has allowed my claim.

Maybe the T&Cs will get updated?

Another Price Promise (sort of) issue:

To submit a successful claim, you need to submit a screenshot of the competitor’s price. That screenshot must show both the date and the time. You have until midnight to submit a claim.

I can’t figure out how to capture the date in iPhone screenshots. That’s a problem if you only have an iPhone available when making a booking and comparing prices.

Does anyone know how to capture the date in an iPhone screenshot?
