Booking Qatar with Velocity - Can you use QFF status for lounge access?

It’s looking like I might make my first Qatar award booking using velocity points. Unfortunately it’s in economy (no other options on specific date).

I was wondering g if it’s still possible to use my QFF SG status for Lounge entry when flying Qatar despite it being a velocity booking?

If so is there something I have to do you the booking?

Very interested if anyone has done this since the QA and VA alliance.

Have travelled on QA before using QFF points and excellent service in J and very nice in Y.

it may depend if it is ticketed as VA codeshare or QR flight numbers.

If QR flight numbers you should be ok with accessing lounges in Au and Doha with QF status (as you are on OW carrier). Outside of Au and Doha it becomes a bit messy with third party lounges and access rules and knowledge - always confirm lounge access at checkin as sometimes you need it printed on the BP to gain access, regardless of the card presented at entry.

Reward bookings rarely come with the FF airline code. Normally the operating code - in this case QR.

Using QF status shouldn’t be messy at all. OW rules apply and rock up to the best available lounge.

Relying on VA status is where things get really messy.
