Hey All,

Before I try and call again for a different customer service officer, has anyone had success booking a mixed redemption level flight...

Wanting to book MNL-PER (via SIN) as a redemption... Normal cost 32.5k Saver, 65k Standard less 15% online discount.

MNL-SIN segment is available as STANDARD award
SIN-PER segment is available as SAVER award.

I would have thought it would be the (cost of the saver + the cost of the standard) / 2 = roughly 45k points less online discount, just under 40k

Online it is quoting me a total cost of 61625 miles, which is actually more than just booking the whole thing as standard.

When I ring the call centre, not possible, system limitation etc etc...

Anyone have experience with this? Obviously typical website issue, but has anyone succeeded with operators to get it through at correct price with online discount?

Cheers,

Pete

I've tried 3 different Customer Service Officers and had no luck, and as per my browsing through other forums/threads... Doesn't look to be possible..

Sounds like this is combining a STANDARD MNL-SIN-PER + MNL-SIN as STANDARD + SIN-PER as SAVER. Have you tried making these as two one way bookings rather than return? That might simplify things, and there is no disadvantage to doing this unless all Saver and wanting stopover in SIN.

You probably know this already from talking to the call centre staff, but "according to the rules" you lose the online discount if you have a mixed redemption fare class booking... I.e. Business Saver + Business Standard, or Economy Saver + Business Saver. Class and redemption fare type must be the same to get the discount. Occasionally the call centre will make an exception for you though, just keep trying...
