Booking luggage throiugh Heathrow

We are due to fly from Chicago to Heathrow on AA in July but as we arrive late we have to stay the night at the Heathrow Hilton before flying to Zurich the next morning on BA.
We would like to book our main luggage right thru from Chicago to Zurich if possible to save carting our luggage around Heathrow.
Anyone had that experience as to whether that is possible?
Any ideas would be appreciated.

If your onward flight is more than 12 hours later than BA will be reluctant to allow thru checked baggage. It really comes down to how AA view it in Chicago though.

I would ring AS and ask them. Alternatively I think you can sore your luggage @ Heathrow for a small fee.
