Hi all. I’m struggling to articulate this question so I hope I can make sense. I have Points Club Plus, I am wanting to book flights MEL-SIN return in business class. The only thing showing up during daylight (we are old, night flights kill us) is Jetstar. I don’t mind Jetstar’s pseudo business class, it’s fine for day time and I have plenty of points so although I know it’s not great points value I would do it. So it all seems clear, however: I want to maximise status credits as well. I think it goes something like if you book Jetstar using money and upgrade to a max bundle you get Q status credits. My question is, if you book Jetstar Business on points as a Points Club Plus member, do you get the status credits (As you would if you were on Q metal which is not available). Thanks for any advice, and hope that makes sense.

Points Club doesn't earn status credits on Jetstar award flights.

But, yes paying for the max bundle will earn SCs for any paid sectors on JQ.

Another way to get home (and cheaper than Biz) is QF72 to PER. It’s a shortish flight, although it lands around midnight but o/n in a hotel and then fly to MEL the next day. So long as the PER-MEL flight departs before about 2pm (I think), it can be booked as a reward for the same points as SIN-MEL.

There’s also an option via Bali. See here:
