Hi All,

I can book 2 domestic American Airlines MCO-LAX in F through QFF.

I need 4 tickets. Is it peoples experience that more F seats open if I book these 2?

Thanks

What dates are you looking at?

I wouldn't waste precious QF points on domestic AA F but would consider doing it in whY. The taxes are only about USD5.50 pp.

Have you priced a KUPP fare on AA MCO to LAX which is an economy priced fare that books into F earning you F points and status credits?

I agree with this. Unless you are very points rich, it isn't a really good use of QF points.
I also doubt you will get 4 F seats as Awards. Easy to get 4 KUPPs though.

Hi ozbeachbabe,

I need to fly on 19th May and can only fly on the 17:11 AA out of MCO.

I have no idea what a KUPP is or how to book it?

I tried searching this forum but the explanation was over my head.

Thanks Craig.

HI Fiona,

Points are not a problem. I wish I could understand what a KUPP is.

Thanks Craig

Having posted that, LAX can be pricey as it's an AA hub.

Looking online, I see P class (discounted First) can be had on AA2381 that day for USD557 each.

There are somewhat cheaper alternatives with different flights/routings.

When I looked it up the 1711 flight was $US506.10 with all seats open in discount first.refundable F was $US1092.
But as the others have said it is unlikely for more award seats to open up.

I was searching for 4 PAX.

2 come in at $507; more than that it's the $557.

So I'm guessing if the 2 award seats are nabbed the price for 2 paid seats might go to $557?

Not sure - the more I looked the less availability there was - either I was temporarily using the availability up with my dummy searches or there was something proactively varying availability.

Or maybe we were looking at the same time!

Hi All,

Thanks for all the replies.

I'm going to book the 2 domestic American Airlines MCO-LAX in F through QFF.

I'll wait a couple of days and see if another 2 F's open up, otherwise I'll just get 2 revenue Y's.

Thanks

If it helps - every flight I've taken to MCO has been in an F cabin with 8 seats - i would think it odd for them to have 50% available for awards

That flight comes up as a 737,16 F seats.
On the other hand our last flight MCO-LAX was a record-42 EXPs competing for upgrades according to the purser.

Was that 42 EXP's hoping for a freebie or gasp, actually paying for it by way of eVIP certificates?

That's a few! On a PDX>SFO flight on UA, I was 57th on the comp upgrades list...
