Hi guys and gals,
ok, situation has arisen and before I go ahead and book the award, I thought I would ask if any others have experienced similiar. As I havn't.
So, in a nutshell, I have booked MEL-SIN-HND-SIN-MEL for later this year (September) in J. My partner was originally going to meet me in Tokyo, flying in from LAX. But, a change of plans means, she thought it would be a good idea to meet in SIN. No problem. So, being the all round good guy that I am, as a present, I thought I would book an award ticket for her on the same flights as me on the SIN-HND-SIN sectors.
As its JL, it does not appear on the QF website, but it is available on JL. Now, I know that I have to call QF to book it. But, it occurred to me, that technically she is not a family member, under the QF rules. We are not married, or even legally de facto. But, I'd like to do this for her.
SO, my question is, anyone who has experience in booking a classic reward for someone who is not a "family member"? Does QF get cough about this sort of thing? Id be surprised if they did, but you never know. Is it just a set and forget thing? You say and they forget? I know I'm over-analysing here probably, but as they say, there's no such thing as a stupid question, right?
Thanks in advance for any help, Bren
