Booked very first round the world trip.

BNE - SYD (J) - 13800 EY miles +$29.44 flying on Virgin Australia

SYD - LAX (J) - 95000 delta miles + $176.6 flying on delta

LAX - BNA (Y) - $454 cash flying on AA

BNA - ZRH (Y) - 30000 UA miles +$16.86 flying on UA

ZRH - ADL (J) - 85000 AA miles + $138.25 flying qsuites

ADL-BNE (J) - 27600 QF miles + $46.89 flying Qantas

Total miles - 251400+$862.2 per person so 502800 miles + $1724.4 for 2 people.

Have put in upgrade request for LAX - BNA using 15000 AA + $113, hoping it will clear.

Also hope I will get J space in BNA - ZRH close in.

An amazing construction, with a variety of airlines. Hope you do a Trip Report, if only on the airline experiences.

Oh I definitely will do it. Expect it in first week of July once I am back. Will do some hotel reviews as well. I am lifetime plat with bonvoy. I have booked 2 bonvoy , 1 SLH and 1 independent hotel in this trip

This trip is complete now, so please find below the detailed review.

A few days before the trip UA opened up J space on BNE - SFO route and I cancelled the DL and VA flights and rebooked on UA using AC miles as it was cheaper. Big mistake as the service on UA was just horrendous. P2 had selected - wake me up for breakfast but they never woke her up or gave her anything. When she asked - the FA replied - "Oh - would u like to eat now??"

Anytime we asked something - they behaved as though we were asking for their body part.

Also changed AA flight from LAX - BNA to SFO - BNA but the phone rep didnt do it right as their system showed LAX - BNA even though in app it was SFO - BNA.

The agent at the counter was on phone with their CS for like an hour before they could fix it. Luckily we had like 4 hours transit time which helped.

The routing was SFO - DFW - BNA and we got an upgrade on the DFW - BNA flight.

AA service was nothing to write abt but it was still better than UA.

One thing though - this month they have a 75k miles offer on their credit card and they were pushing it hard - atleast 5-6 times on each leg.

For the BNA - ZRH leg, a week before J space opened up on BNA - YYZ - YUL - ZRH with first 2 legs on AC and last leg on Swiss air.

I booked using AC miles as this was not available elsewhere.

Then the wildfires started and there so many cancellations, so I just started looking elsewhere and the day before space opened up on IAD - AMS - ZRH on KLM. Booked this using flying blue miles.

In hindsight this was better as this was landing in ZRH at 11 AM and the Swiss air was 06:15 AM.

No way we would have gotten the room at the Renaissance Lucerne Hotel if we showed up at 9 AM but it was ready when we cane at 1 PM.

KLM J seats are so - so but their service was outstanding, I wouldnt mind flying them again even with their sub par seats.

The highlight of the trip was flying qsuites from ZRH - DOH - MEL - ADL. This is a weird routing as u have to do a 6 hour layover in MEL when there is nothing open. Luckily for us the flight got delayed for 3 hours from DOH which meant we had to only spend 3 hours in MEL airport.

The service in qsuites is just outstanding, the best we have ever received. Nothing else comes close to it.

But I would not fly this route again. It took almost 37 hours to reach BNE airport where as SQ (the flight I had originally booked would have taken 26 hours).

Its not really worth the extra 11 hours of travel and transit and what not.
