The first flight, a northbound MCY to PPP on Tuesday 31 January 2023 ran late, but so far I can't see any specific online details via FR24 or other sources.

I do not know if the B738 was VH-UJK or VH-UJT.

On Monday 15 May 2023, AB1009 (B738 VH-UKH), the 0600 hours first of the morning MEL-GLT did not take off until 0823 hours, so arruval is estimated at 1049 hours, 114 minutes late.

This is a classic situation for a small operator where unless the turnarounds are generous and/or there's a break in the middle of the day or it had a spare plane in say MEL, the aircraft will run late all day.

On that Monday, the aircraft indeed operated late all day, with its last one for the day, AB1038, the 2025 hours MQL down to MEL taking off at 2339 and arriving at 0034 on Tuesday 16, 184 minutes late, so delays actually 'built' during the day's 'pattern'.

Possibly an aircraft short again.

The morning Wellcamp flight didn’t depart until this afternoon. And looking at tomorrow, one aircraft in the Melbourne base appears out of order with a days schedule cancelled

AB1037 from MEL to MQL hasn't enjoyed good punctuality in the last eight days. It operates thrice weekly.

Yesterday B73M VH-UKH on this 1215 hours ex MEL took off at 1337 hours, arriving at 1429 hours, 59 late.

On Monday 12, it was the same plane but timetabled to depart at 1750: it took off at 1842 for arrival at 1936 hours, 31 behind.

On Friday 9, it was scheduled as a 1950 hours early evening departure. It was airborne with VH-UIK at 2105 for arrival at 2158 hours, 53 late.

While one wouldn't suggest the modes are substitutable for every prospective passenger, V/Line operates numerous road coach trips daily from Swan Hill to Mildura and return (typically connecting with trains, though some coaches go all the way to/from Bendigo) for which the fare from 31 March 2023 has been lowered (single, not return) to $4.60 for an adult and $2.30 for a child, pensioner, student or Victorian senior 60 and over. This fare also applies to Melbourne to Southern Cross, or indeed Orbost to Mildura if one wanted to make such a journey.

As I've not looked at the Bonza app, I do not know its fares but reports from friends indicate the V/Line coaches (that prior to the fare decrease were well patronised) are now often full on many trips, 55 seats a trip generally as this government-owned operator may not put a second coach on (although I've not been there to observe of late). It is compulsory seat booking on the coaches (though not on connecting trains).

Meant to leave at 930am. Now going at 930pm, ie just pushing back now. Some other nasty 6-7 hour delays across the network. They seem to be struggling a bit.

On other operating days (that I can see) that flight is an evening departure.

Is it meant to be a 930AM or maybe an error in FR24?

Sadly not on a Sunday is a 930am departure.

Still not as bad as my Tiger delayed flight in 2008. Hard to forget. MEL-MCY 8am departure that was delayed until 1am the following day.

Going well again today. From the Cairns Airport site:

The WTB-PPP rotation was cancelled yet again today. Also this coming Friday too. Yesterday’s and this Thursday’s MCY-CFS rotations were also a pre-planned cancellation. Both routes seem to be the first to go when they’re having crewing issues. Doesn’t bode well for those two sticking around.

According to Flight Radar and other tracking sites, they were supposed to start 30 minute turn arounds today. Looking at their app though, everything got rescheduled to be 40 minute turns instead. Flight Radar data hasn’t caught up yet, so I’d say it was a very last minute change.

Will be interesting to see when they open up sale for flights past October and what sticks around.

In fact looks like another issue. MCY-Albury returned about an hour ago and hasn’t departed again, assuming engineering issue. Got as far as Grafton.

Looks like they’re down an aircraft today, and once again it’s VH-UKH.

Some eye watering delays. AB1055 MEL-ROK was originally scheduled for 5:00pm. Recently rescheduled to 11:45am, only to end up delayed until 8:45pm. This will mean the ROK-MEL sector won’t arrive in Melbourne until 2:55am.

Today no flight to Toowoomba from Melbourne
Yep. Toowoomba - Proserpine - Toowoomba and Melbourne - Mildura - Melbourne were also cancelled today.

Some upcoming cancellations
Mon 17 Jul: MEL-WTB-PPP-WTB-MEL, MEL-MCY-MEL
Thu 20 Jul: MCY-CFS-MCY
Fri 21 Jul: WTB-PPP-WTB, TMW-MCY-TMW
Mon 24 Jul: MCY-ROK-MCY

Crew or Engineering issues?
Mix of both. The pre-planned cancellations seem to be crew, the major delays/last minute cancellations engineering.

UKH is still down. Hasn’t flown since Friday. Today’s MEL-ROK was initially delayed for about 4 hours, but has just been cancelled instead.
