Hi all,

I’ve noticed an ongoing problem that stays take forever to credit to Bonvoy, if they credit at all! I’m often having to follow up to manually have them credit the stays.

Normally it’s annoying but not critical - but I’m currently doing a 16 night challenge for Platinum and I will complete my last stay on the last night of the 3 month period, so I have no doubt this will be a nightmare to try to get them to honour it.. (I was already gold elite but since the insane devaluation of that status figured it was worth it).

I am currently in the middle of a European trip with multiple Marriott hotel stays. So far my stays have credited within 48 hours. I am also doing a platinum challenge that I will have satisfied when I check out of my current hotel. I will be interested to see if/when it comes through considering they don't give you any written advice that you have registered for the challenge.

Not sure whether geography could play an issue to length of time for account to update?

Well I think Bonvoy is the hotel equivalent of QF-consistently inconsistent.
Sorry OP you have been Bonvoyed.

I checked out Saturday morning, points in my account Sunday night. This is a regular occurrence for me:)

OP - are they specific properties you are noticing the difficulty with?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Just a data point - satisfied platinum challenge on Tuesday, stay credited on Wednesday and platinum status now showing today (Thursday).

A few important checks that you must observe for your stay to credit automatically. 1) Folio must be in your name, 2) must be paid using a CC in your name, and finally 3) primary guest on reservation (you) must have presented ID to front desk upon checkin or during the stay.

IME, the Platinum Elite Services line will happily process your missing stays without fulfilling some if not all of these key criteria. Some agents also do not require evidence of the invoice - use this to your advantage ;)

I've not noticed any issues with points posting. Checkout Thursday night and most of the time points are in by Friday night or Saturday each week.

If you email the support line with a copy of the folio and all surrounding details they should be quick to credit.

Anyone had any luck with points accruing from just eating at an SPG property but not staying. It was something they brought in earlier in the year but I only just tried it recently. No accrual. I think they gave me the discount though.

Have a stay coming up and hoping that accrues but only chose it because it was a convenient location. Might wait to see if that accrues. If not then I'll chase both up together.

Hi mate, our travails have been documented here:

I will say I do this 6-8 times a year and since my posting it has gotten a little better because:

1. I always pressure the restaurant to fill out the little white bonvoy form and I take a photo of the filled out form
2. I ask for a detailed invoice of the dining so it is not just a credit card chit
3. I use a specific email address now to log the points claim

Nevertheless the process fails 50% of the time or higher (with Starwood it only ever failed for me once) and half the battle is educating Marriott about the program as CS reps simply don't know it.

Ugh! Thanks for the disappointing read. I was hoping time would iron a few things out. My recent stay has posted which means it will just be the F&B from another place to chase up. I had asked the lady about it, she knew of the dining privileges when not staying although it was a different lady that processed the final bill. I will look out for the white form in future. Is the email address you refer to available on the website?

Have sent a PM of an email address to use.

'Insist' on filling out one of the 'white' forms (it now has Bonvoy logos on it (sometimes it helps to say to the people that the form used to be blue ...this applies only to legacy SPG properties. ..and that is because the old starwood form was blue).

Another path to success I have had is to contact the restaurant directly if the points have not posted. Eventually the email will get forwarded around to someone who knows and they credit. Include the link to this page to give them a prompt: Marriott Bonvoy | Explore member benefits in Asia Pacific
