Bonus Status Credits

I thought I saw a thread a while back about someone receiving random status credits but I can't seem to find it.

Just logged into my account and the latest activity is titled "Bonus Status Credits" of which I have received 50. The activity date is 4th October and the processed date is today.

Unfortunately, I moved up to platinum for the first time on the 6th of October so these 50 status credits isn't counting towards my additional status credits to maintain platinum.

I logged in earlier today, noticed that I had been "assessed" as Silver (after 2 weeks of sitting in "we are currently assessing" and 410SCs earned) and had nothing.

Tonight I have this line:

Not sure why/how.

They will be moot anyway, as I had enough travel booked to get me to Gold this year already (and the day I should tick over I'll earn SCs that will be burnt).

It seems to be fairly random how they dole out bonus SCs. Similar to yourself, I'm presently sitting on 440SCs and have travel booked such that I'll tick over to Gold by years end.

I rang Velocity to let them know that I earnt status credits (50 bonus status credits plus 40 for another flight) in between the time I took the flight that brought me to platinum and the time it took said flight to post. No dice though. It won't count towards my platinum requalification.

:shock::shock: 320 bonus SC here... Bloody hell I'm shocked... Rolled over to platinum on 1 October, then these showed up 8 oct dated activity on 1 oct.

I'm a 5 year gold member and got to 880 SC last year (I should have done a status run in retrospect). Anyway I emailed them to remind them how long I'd been gold and wouldn't it be nice to reward such a loyal customer etc etc. I got back a very firmly worded email saying it was 1,000 points no less. Which I considered fair enough at the time, thinking all customers would be treated the same. So, yes, I'm pissed off that some are treated less equally than others.

Sure. I'm not that annoyed in truth. But when I see QFF members get their DJ gold and platinum status maintained purely for taking a J flight, I feel that Virgin can take loyalty for granted.

Agreed, this frustrates me also. The lack of double SC promotions heading my way, lack of these bonus SC's. I attained Gold and now retained Gold and now recently about to hit Platinum, all the hard way by being dedicated to Velocity Frequent Flyer. *shrug*

Meanwhile, my QFF account is going stale, reached 200SC last year and was granted silver again even though I didn't make the extra 50SC... Should I be questioning my loyalty to Velocity Frequent Flyer? Especially after today reading the increasing codeshares with QF into SIN and KUL which I fly into every couple of months.

Wow. You are lucky !

I would have scrapped through to partner gold if I got a bonus. Now all the extra SC's just get trashed instead On the upside, for everyone else, you won’t have yet another status member to water down the value Although, we always travel together so that’s inconsequential.

I wonder if as a BIS platinum you got a bonus by accident I am convinced they only want to actually retain QFF's.
