Boarding pass collection - LAX

Hi there. I’m at Las Vegas and about to connect at LAX to QF12. Our bags are checked through to Sydney but we need to collect LAX to SYD boarding passes. I was going to use tunnels to stay airside, but where do I get BP and do vaccination checks etc? Hopefully, I don’t need to go landside and use checkin area. (And then through security again). TIA.

Yes, unfortunatley you'll have to go landside to the QF checkin desk at TBIT to get your QF BP. This is because QF relies on technology to make everything seamless during these covid times...

Thanks for the confirmation. Now I’m glad our QF94 with 2.5hrs connection got cancelled for QF12 with a 4 hr connection.

Update: We used the tunnels and stayed airside. The Qantas longe is closed but the oneworld lounge is open. They happily checked us in and issued boarding passes. Ecstatic that we didn’t have to go landside again! I asked, and they will only do this based on class of travel or status. Also, they are not taking lounge passes.

This is correct except the Qantas F lounge door says it is closed. I thought I read on AFF that it had reopened?

Great! I actually called the P1 VIP line and they said the lounge could not do check in...

They didn’t quite go that far, but they did like telling PAX that bags would be checked through to Melbourne. Clearly wrong.

Thanking everyone here for the heads up - flying AUS-DFW-SYD-MEL and was told in Austin I’d need to visit the gate agent. Instead went direct to Flagship and explained my predicament, and it turns out Qantas have someone stationed here to process the DPD’s and sight documents.

Relatively painless, but wish it were somewhat better communicated…
