I am on a bit of a mission to try and reconstruct a history of my travel over the last 55 years. Putting together a spreadsheet based on saved tickets, passport stamps, diary entries (though I never been good with keeping a diary!), and memory. I went on a trip to the UK in December 1972, election day when Gough was elected. Pretty sure that was on QF and one of the first 747's, but can't be certain. However, I came home on a BOAC VC10 via New York, LA, etc. I know I left Heathrow on Friday 19th January, and arrived in NY the same day as it is stamped in my passport. Searching on the net reveals that there was a flight BA591 that went London to Melbourne via NY, LA, Honolulu, Nadi, Sydney then Melbourne. But not on a Friday. I don't remember changing planes anywhere, but that's not to say I didn't. Does anyone's memory go back that far?? Think I remember being disappointed that Captain Bristow was not in the pilot's seat!! HIs VC10 ads on TV made me want to try the plane, hence my flight home via the US.
