BNE to LAX, a330, which are the exit seats to avoid?

Hi

I'm going to be flying QF15 from Brisbane to LA in a few months. I have not flown anything international but VA in a long time, but that is gone.

So as a lowly nothing member I have to pick and pay for a seat! I want to buy an exit row set at $180 each way. I have read up on Seatguru but am not sure which specific version of a330 is used. Specifically I see that most of the exit row seats actually have the escape slide bulging out into the space and are a bad idea (6ft, want to stretch). Specifically after the window to lean against the wall and try to sleep.

One blog I found suggested that 45a may be okay as it has a smaller escape slide bulkhead? Anyone know?

Thanks!

Check the seat map on the Qantas site (in Manage My Booking where you select your seat), and compare to Seatguru to see which layout you have. That's how you know exactly which variant is on your flight.

I believe it’s the a330-200 in 26 business and 208 economy version. The third set of doors are smaller and have a correspondingly smaller escape slide - single lane instead of double, and a smaller slide bustle (housing) to match.

I suspect you're on this SeatGuru Seat Map Qantas

I can't comment on the door. But you're right in front of the toilets. While waiting to use those toilets I've often wondered the value of those exit row seats. A big no thanks from me.
