I am looking to fly to New York in the first week of November and the two best looking options I've found are Qantas (via LAX) and Air Canada (via YVR). As an extra bonus, I would love to stop over in Singapore for a week on the return leg, but this seems to be beyond most booking sites ability. The search either fails, or the price jumps by $10k, so I've basically given up home on being able to do this.
For the simple BNE-NYC return, both appear to be offering the Dreamliner and I don't think there is much of a difference between the Economy seats.
**Qantas:**
+ I was QF WP1 a few years ago, currently on the downward slope at SG. I may be able to retain SG with a few more of these trips.
+ Slightly shorter time in the air
+ I always appreciate the Aussie accent on the way home!
**Air Canada:**
+ YVR is a much nicer airport to clear US Customs!
+ The return looks to have a free stop over in any of the big Canadian cities... Could be a good excuse for a day trip to Niagara Falls via Toronto.
+ About 10% cheaper ($1,180 vs $1,300)
My questions:
1. Is either airline 'better' or more suited for me?
2. Why is it impossible to find BNE-JFK-SIN-BNE
