Hi, just wanting to ask this.
If flying to MEL-LHR on QF9 or QF387 would I be paying the fuel surcharge only once each way, as opposed to flying from BNE on two different flight numbers which definately has 2 surcharges.

Thanks.
Mal.

Simple answer is one flight number, one fuel surcharge. Two flight numbers, two fuel surcharges.

So from Brisbane, for return fares, fuel surcharges are
BNE-MEL-LHR = $26+ $75 + $75 + $26 = $202
BNE-SIN-LHR = $75 + $75 + $75 + $75 = $300
MEL-LHR-MEL (via SIN of course) = $75 +$75 = $150!

Note that on Air NZ the through flights (one flight number) from Aust/NZ to London get a special higher surcharge so you cant "benefit" in this way. But then for Air NZ the through traffic on this route is a significant % of international travel - likely more so than for QF.
