Gulf Air. BKK-LHR J Return

The Bahrain-London leg is on their shiny new 787's with the awesome looking Apex business class seats (as per Japan Airlines, Korean Air and Oman Air) - I'm looking forward to trying it out.

I had a previous booking in December for $2800 which I cancelled today and rebooked immediately for $2000 plus $200 cancellation fee.

I also just booked a week in October because, well, why not at $2K?

I can see availability most days all the way to end of year. Some days have 1-2 hour transit in Bahrain and others much longer.

Now to blow some points to get to BKK....

I matched it up with QF23 (SYD-BKK) on 60K QFF points and SG221 on the way back for 58K. That give me 3 new J class seats that I haven’t experienced before including the new Singapore Air A380 J seats.

Look forward to the trip report!

Good fare but the lack of GF airline partners would put me off. QR on the other hand....

well, QR does have something priced similar from GCK (Jakarta) to Europe at the moment. Personally BKK works better for me from a positioning point of view (and it's, you know, Bangkok).
