I am hoping to hear of recent experiences from travellers who have had long stopovers in BKK.
With schedule changes by TG we will now have about 13hrs between our flights (arrive & depart on same day). We are travelling MUC-BKK then BKK-SYD on the one ticket. I have been told our bags will be checked through.
Thai Airways in Syd told me that they have been instructed to advise that the departure tax might be charged if we leave the airport between our flights.
Assuming that we already have the boarding passes for the SYD flight, I would have thought we would be unlikely to be charged?

That is a weird thing for Thai Airways to say, the departure tax at BKK was disbanded years ago.
