I would also think there's bird-watcher or interest sites that would relish such contributions. I stumble across them when searching for info about a bird I saw.

Many on that cruise were also Ornithologists and also visited the same landfill

Yep, google earth and our gps showed it as a real road. It's all part of the fun of doing these trips, we managed to get some good photos and brought some smiles to kids faces.
