Big W gift cards at 7.5% off

Received my 10 x $200 Gift Cards via email this morn - 30 days post paying for them jerks! Most pissed off I missed the Grange and RWT deals - come on Danny Boy - give them another run please.

If you are very lucky you will find a checkout operator at Big W who will let you buy plastic Wish cards with the Big W egiftcard.

I actually find iTunes cards a better deal at 20% off however I have been witness to 30% off so a great deal. I will post the next available discounts when they pop up next.

Totally correct as far as you go.

I read the pages of T&Cs for Big W egiftcards and THERE IS NO MENTION of not being able to redeem them for any other gift cards.

There is a prohibition on using them for prepaid visa debit cards though.

I recently also confirmed this with WoW head office so i could do the 5 figure FC card purchases.

A-OK to buy any GC with the egiftcard.

Not OK to buy any gc with the plastic WoW gc though (that's when an obliging, inexperienced or hassled operator comes in handy).

On another thread this whole idea of egiftcard purchasing of plastic gcs was proposed and tested multiple times for Big W.

Not sure it's worth the time and hassle of buying these BigW e-gift cards in the hope that one could convert them to Wish gift cards.

I just got the Entertainment Book email as well. I think I will go through them rather than Cash Rewards. I purchased $300 worth of the Big W egiftcards during the 7.5% promotion and was lucky enough to convert them to plastic cards which can be used in any Woolworths group store.

I'll probably buy $200 worth of cards via Entertainment Book on the basis that I know I will spend at least $200 during the year at Big W. If I end up getting to convert them, I will see this as a bonus only.

That could be a good idea. I would do the same if they didn't keep pushing the e-gift voucher side of things. I would love to have a physical card with my balance on it.

Unable to convert BigW eGift to plastic WISH in Macquarie Park today(despite call to supervisor)

Concerned that I would be stuck with a $500 BigW card for the duration but have just managed to use it online for Dan's.

Nothing like beating the system for discount booze (10%BigW +6.15% Pricepal)

Went in today and redeemed the Big W e-giftcards at the self-service for High value WoW cards (including some still usable at Dick Smith). No problem at all.

I forgot a few weeks back I also redeemed a WoW e-giftcard at Big W with no issues at all.

The T&Cs definitely allow you to buy any gc but prepaid matercard/visa. Worth downloading the PDF and having a read if you are concerned.

Large 10% off purchase about to happen.

Only sorrow - this did not come up before the FC gc 10% off deal.

Just greedy I guess!

PS: Caught AMEX out on Tuesday - redeeming points for FX - Posters/internet/T&Cs all say 12,000 points = $100 AUD in foreign currency cash. Transaction calculated at rate of 13,500!!!!!!
64 minutes later and State and National managers very apologetic especially after I asked to use their phone to call the ACCC in their presence. Now waiting to lodge formal complaint about compensation for ALL PEOPLE CONNED.

They have been doing this since early October apparently but nearly everyone has excess points left over so have not noticed (official line).

I zeroed out the few points I had on that old free Amex card.

I've had the same issue — didn't realise that the Big W cards are now only useable in Big W. Dan's don't contact you to let you know there's been a problem with a card, and just wait for you to notice!

I've swapped a good few cards over for Wish cards at Big W. When the staff look surprised, I said I'd accidentally bought the wrong cards online and was converting them over. No dramas.

I would say definitely, because you can't choose the amount to load on to the WISH card at the self service check-outs.

Exactly as you say. Staff authorised the loading onto the card, stepped back while I paid then came back to activate

Well done. I converted a BigWegiftcard today when I picked up some back to school specials. I left a small amount on the egiftcard but I'll probably use that in a few weeks time for other things at Big W.
