This weekend, big w are having a family and friends deal giving 10% off to nearly everything**
There is a $50 minimum spend.
While big w isn't a supermarket, it's part of the woolies group and does accept wish gift cards. So for those of you who are able to buy gift cards at 5% off face value, then you can effectively get about 15% (actually, 14.5%) off.
For those of you thinking "why do I care? i don't need milk powder/laundry detergent/cheap low quality household items", big w also sells gift cards for non - woolies group stores. Notably, myer & david jones, dick smiths, and various boutiques. I'm also pretty sure i've seen them sell westfield and westfield xs cards (with activation fees)
The last kicker is of course that you can earn EDR points for the purchase of these non-woolies group gift cards.
Unfortunately for me, i've got a busy weekend ahead so will be unlikely to join in the deal, but I figure there's plenty of people out there eyeing some purchases at dj/myer that they wouldn't mind getting an extra 10% off.
