Beware of Tiger Airlines (Singapore)!!

Are you from Tiger??? Sounds too good to be true...
LOL
i used to work at Aerocare which did the ground stuff for Tiger, but not for Tiger. No discounts or nothing to sway my opinion. Will admit they had some horrid delays but lucky not when i was flying.
They have my favourite cabin crew as they are pretty relaxed and not full of themselves. I flew once on QANTAS in J class and a cabin attendant told i was in business class and economy was further down. Took great delight in showing her my boarding pass with 1 D on it.

Tiger's main advantage for me is getting row1 and a fast exit at a price which is less than a economy on most airlines. Also with the glass screen in front of 1A and 1B i feel less squashed in.

Welcome to AFF drivatruk. It was just an intruiging choice of first post subject. We look forward to hearing opinions and comparisons of Tiger Singapore vs Tiger Australia if you do happen to be flying them both frequently.

Likewise.. & for my post also not being too critical.. rather a simple tongue in cheek question.. I for one have also utilised DG flights within asia, particularly SIN/CRK & also TT flights within Australia, & from my personal experiences there is a distinct difference in all aspects of soft product & disparities with "as per schedule" departure & arrival timing for each region.

I could elaborate & post more of a rant.. but I believe as with most LCCs when it works it's great, but when the sh!# hits the fan for one reason or 'excuse", it can leave any passenger in 'limbo land"
But then I guess 'You get what you pay for & you pay for what you get"

I think we need to remember that at least in Australia there really are two tigers, one is now the most on time operator consistently for many months while the other one has the one time performance of a cobb and co stagecoach, with the reliability to match.

Well said, the question really is - will the australian public warm to the re-launched and on-time Australian Tiger? Or is the brand so compromised that a possible "re-launch" or new identity could be the key?

I guess it depends on what Tiger and Singapore Airlines are really trying to acheive with Tiger, if it exists only to piss off JQ then it would be for 2 reasons?

1. To undercut JQ and create losses for JQ & TG (i.e. predatory pricing)
2. To compromise or damage the reputation of LCC's (i.e the 'ol "muddy the waters" trick)

Well god news - after waiting close to 8 weeks I received a reply from Tiger Singapre and they've agrteed toa "partial" refund of 335 SGD to the credit card - so atleast it's an outcome...

Tiger's strategy is very clear, and will work:
Get our house in order, don't over-extend ourselves, concentrate on delivering a decent product consistently and over time people will accept the new model.

I think they made it very clear they screwed up, and completely changed management here as a result.

From what I've read on travel forums and crowdsourced review sites, the biggest problem they have is that they attract a lot of naive once-a-decade flyers who don't understand how airlines work, and post reviews like:

TIGER NEVERAGAIN!!!
I was late for my flight and even though I could clearly see the plane was still at the gate they told me I missed it and made me pay $75 for another ticket!!! Tiger you have lost me forever!!! 1 out of 10.

LCC's have their place. And to be honest, I'd much rather see an airline like Tiger (which doesn't promise to be anything but a LCC) prosper, instead of the situation we currently have where Jetstar is consuming QF in Australia and Asia... offering a LCC service, but being offered up on the QF website as part of the QF package.
