That confirms it...I'm going Resmed "Shares" shopping!
Just for interest got a model number and cost....purchased in USA?

I have more than one S8 machine so I travel with the spare. No issues provided you update the masks, clean the filter and tubing regularly. These machines work for quite a few years.
i tried a super light one of a different brand and it was not suitable.

Any on Gumtree or E Bay?
You just get a new mask and tube.
I got some of mine in Perth from the Perth Sleep Clinic but I would get them for less elsewhere.

If you see one on ebay either snag it fast or note the user name so you can email them when ebay removes the item, which they will do almost immediately. They're prescription devices, so they won't let you sell them. I know this because I listed a family member's for them, when they switched to a mandibular advancement splint (much easier to carry on planes, too!) - lasted all of five minutes before ebay took it down.

Thanks Rebekkap ! I have bought 5 machines and sold 1 all through registered organizations.
If you are a chronic snorer a sleep clinic will test you and then get you a machine to fix it if necessary.
The one I sold was from a friend who passed away and his machine was almost new.
I bought the 2 lithium batteries from Cpap.com and they run for about 8 hours each.

Similarly use a Resmed S8 but don't have the batteries so I rely on in-seat power.
Strange call I received from CX last year before travelling AMS-HKG in J on an A340 - they said in seat power couldn't be used but must confess I forgot that advice, used the power and slept like a baby!

I just managed to sleep for most of the SYD-BNE flight in 4D.

Slept, woke up for a few minutes and had snack, fell asleep and when I woke up it was all cleared away.

It helps to be tired.

Change your watch to the destination time 2-3 days before your flight and increasingly try to stick to sleep times at your destination

Totally glad to revisit this thread as I still find that eye drops, big sunnies and red lipstick (Anna by Napoleon Perdis) are the best way to look as though you have had a full nights sleep on an aircraft

I agree with the sunnies but not the lipstick. I needed the sunnies JFK-LAX-MEL to disguise the black eye I got on the NY subway - but that's a different story altogether.

Otherwise, a couple of movies, then settle down for a snooze. It's a balancing act though, whether to get up for a toilet break after the movie as I did and come back to the seat wide awake, or sleep like a baby...two hours and then wake up screaming.

Well I stay awake for the whole night before (or maybe do heavy workout on the day that im suppose to leave if i do fall asleep the night before). Works alright for me....
