Best way to do etihad apartments with amex MR?

Hi everyone,
Points required and taxes are pretty high for apartments from Aus to EU long haul.

Are there any ways to use Amex MR points to get either down lower?
All I seem to see is about 400k amex MR points converted to etihad guest and $1500aud in taxes/surcharges

In the old days (i.e. before July 31st this year) I would transfer 400K to SPG for 200K SPG points and then wait for the transfer bonus to American (20K SPG -> 32.5K AA points) which would give me 325K AA = 1 Apartment return to EU plus $600 taxes approx.

Doesn't help you (or me) now with the forthcoming Amex -> SPG devaluation.

ahh, so you essentially got apartments for 400k MR points +$600 in taxes,
a rough saving of $1000 AUD

i ve been looking at best ways to do multiple apartments trips,

but I cant find any and I seem to keep on gravitating towards kris program!
