Best US status run options post 'fairer, simpler'

Try some routings out of BDA to some far western US destinations..

Another good source is the BA tier point run thread on FT, the wiki on the first may give you some inspiration, although the routing thresholds are different, so best to crosscheck with the new QFF calculator. Bear in mind, the sweet-spot for BAEC tier points are >2000mi, for 210 TPs so most are geared towards city pairs with thereabouts that mileage, with that distance only earning 120 SCs with QFF as it falls in the 1500-2500mi bucket.

That's more like it! Please do share!

Please feel free to PM me. I think we need to stop publically sharing these routings in case they get enhanced™...

Sadly you may find that is no longer possible. There have been significant changes to routing rules over the last six months allowing just the one connecting point - see current:Results from ExpertFlyer.com

I got it off the AA website on Friday , does that mean it might not be able to be booked?

So is MATRIX showing fares that are not bookable, i just found a 3 stopper for 2.15/sc

I am dissillusioned with QFF, as i believe they do not appreciate our points anymore.
I would like to start having my cc points redirected to AA, but cannot find a card that i can apply as an Australian.
Can anyone direct me to how this could be possible please?

You can. Look at the way matrix constructs the fare. I booked one recently and had to break it up. You don't necessarily book A-Z, you may need to book A to C (Which will offer a transit via B), and then C to Z (which may offer a transit via D and E).

Only Diners club in Australia offers it, or an Amex that lets you move to Starwood, and then you move Starwood to AA. AA to my knowledge have no plans to introduce a CC in AU that earns AA miles easily.

I have not seen a two or three stopper SFO/LAX/LAS to SJU for under US$650 in the last 4 to 6 months.

I am not stating they are not out there but I haven't seen any.

The AMEX Platinum Charge Card used to allow you to divert to the Starwood Preferred Guest loyalty program. From there you could (used to be able to) divert to AAdvantage. Keep in mind that the card has an annual fee of $1200/yr and the point exchange rates are not 1:1.

Same can be done for any of the Ascent Amex cards (I.e platinum edge).

Wash through SPG at 2:1 with a 5k bonus for every 20k and it works out at 0.625/$ which is not too bad. Plat Edge has the benefit of the 3:2:1 structure if you spend a lot at supermarkets or servos.

Amex platinum edge still decent when earning 3x supermarket or 2x fuel then via SPG (.5 Spg per Amex point) in increments of 20k to earn 5k bonus.

Thanks all.

i went with the amex rewards card with 5000 free points (as i couldnt see the value in paying higher annual fees just to get points) for the ability to transfer to SPG then onto AA, and also took the Citibank select as it has unlimited priority pass and 60k points with the ability to transfer to asia miles at 1:1.....C u later QFF, my million plus points per year are now going elsewhere.

You can get 3x fuel with the Plat Edge by buying Coles Group/WISH cards for Shell/Caltex respectively-that gets it almost to 1 AA mile/$
