What app do people use for translations and trying to have conversations in a foreign language? Is there a good one?

I have used ITranslate and Google Translate. What do you recommend?

CMT is a terrible app. It's only pro is that it feeds direct from Amadeus, so useful for checking bookings (although useless for adding non-Amadeus bookings like AA).

I use TripIt, but CMT to check things like ticketing status. It would be nice if TripIt could talk to Amadeus directly.

There is an earlier reference to Sabre and Amadeus bookings. Some apps favour either. Can someone explain the differences between these booking systems and which apps are specific to each

Different airlines and travel companies use the different systems. I believe that American Airlines uses Sabre and Qantas uses Amadus. I have booked flights with points using AA but flying Qantas. AA had a different booking reference to Qantas. Checkmytrip uses Amadeus therefore u can check etix and flight details on Checkmytrip. Qantas didn't have the etix number on the booking, so i used the Qantas ref number on checkmytrip and was able to see the etix number on there. It is really handy.

Are there any apps that check pricing of flexible hotel bookings and alerts you if the price decreases?

I booked a flexible rate at an Accor property and have cancelled and rebooked a few times as the advertised rate decreases.

I recall TripIt Pro did it for US flights.

Hotels don't like such things and endeavour to prevent it.

There was an attempt with Hilton and a tool called "StayAngel", but it became like whack-a-mole for the developers. (Ever wondered why Hilton logins often bring up "I'm not a robot" recaptures.)
