i am a member of royal orchard plus (Thai air) & Krysflyer (singapore Air). which is the best frequent flyer program of these two, to transfer points to.

Without having credit cards myself, I’m thinking SIA would be easier to transfer points to, from Australia, from what I have read here.

Without knowing your travel pattern, it is hard to make recommendation. However, in my case, SIA KF is better than Thai. Reasons:
1. Westpac Krisflyer Card;
2. AMEX Membership Reward transfer to KF;
3. Cheap redemption - J Savers (if you can get it)

This is from someone only travel for leisure twice a year.

Downside:
* SIA KF is relatively hard to get up in status. My partner (also travel twice a year with me), she's Asiana Diamond (*A Gold) whilst I am still a noob on KF.

Where are you transferring points from? I am aware that Amex Membership Rewards allows transfer of points to both KF & ROP. However the transfer rates are 1:1 for Krisflyer and 4:3 for Royal Orchid Plus, and then for star alliance rewards the rates ex-AUS are higher on Royal Orchid Plus (without multiplying by 4/3), so really it doesn't make a lot of sense.

ex-AU, star alliance awards
SE Asia - 55K (KF), 70K (ROP = 93K MR points)
HKG/Taipei- 60K (KF), 70K (ROP)
Japan/CHina- 80K (KF), 90K (ROP)
Europe - 100K (KF), 130K (ROP)
US - 80k (KF), 100K (ROP)

The Thai only awards using ROP are more competive (very similar to Krisflyer's Singapore AIrlines only awards), but KF offer a 15% discount for booking online.

Definitely Krisflyer is a easier program to earn points from Australia, as well as redeeming rewards. However, bear in mind that KF miles last 3 years only, so you need to spend those miles regularly!

I would definitely go for KF over ROP. I am already doing this!
