Best Seats on the B789?

I am thinking 4A or 6A.
Mrscove wants to try a straight to London flight out of Perth.

I also have a 787 flight booked from LAX-MEL in Feb next year and am curious myself, currently in 1A by default.

I guess until someone actually undertakes RPT travel in one it's going to be a game of educated guesses.

I note that unlike the 330's, even row business seats are on the aisle.

I would be choosing 5A or 5K. Seats are on the windows and you're far enough back that you are out of range of any baby in the bassinet yet not so far back that you miss out on your meal choice.

As an aside, why are the rows not sequentially numbered? That is, the plane does not have a row 9, 13-19, 24-39 & 45. I guess it helps quickly differentiate J, Y+ and Y. Is that the only reason? Though Y could have started at row 30 if that's the reason.

I also prefer sitting against the window with the table protecting me from the isle. Probably would select an A seat as I'm right handed.

With these seats in needs to balance the extra storage space available to the A/K aisle seats with the greater privacy of the window alternates.

For such a long flight the window wins.
