Best seat in J Syd to LA

Hi all

travelling to LA and across the US next Feb then home again, going over on QF107 in J class B747 both ways. i have been pre allocated 11J but was wondering what’s the best, have only ever had 11J before as well and I wasn’t fussed on it but it was a rough flight. the only other seats available to me are 14 A&B on the upper deck (shown as exit aisles) or row 5 downstairs. What’s the consensus. for some reason i perfer the downstairs cabin yet i have never travelled J there.

Personally I'd go for row 5......B or J.

More 'space' downstairs. I always travelled 11K for years on SIA. Very much my own space.

The only way to know is to try it out

Indeed!! I spend so much time traveling on my own that I forget that there are an awful lot of people that don't.

5 B/K are on their own...i.e. no 5A or 5K. Solo seats.

Also if my calcs are correct Syd to LA, LA to DFW, DFW to Charlette NC all in J with QF or AA and then home to SYD through BNE in J tally up to 540SC ? ( US Air Charlette Back to LA)

Another Q for my learned friends. SYD TOK RTN in Y+ , 37B up which I have found but have 23F on return which all my maps show as J

I agree that 5B is an excellent choice if travelling solo.
