Has anyone had any luck with this, just found a rate online thats $30 cheaper than what I booked, so have put in a claim, will be interesting to see how it turns out as I believe some chains offer this and dont really deliver!

Not well, no response at all, will have to chase. Although I noted later in the day the cheap rate at the other website had gone!

I tried to use it some time back and they flatly refused to honour it. Came up with every excuse under the sun why the guarantee didn't apply. I have kept the email relating to this so might go back and refresh my memory.

I've always found this 'best price guarantee' on hotels websites amusing. When I book a hotel I usually search various booking engines (as well as the hotels own website) for the dates - I can't remember anytime where the hotels website had the lowest rate.

3 experiences. All positive
Booked via 1865 club at Langham Melbourne. Wotif $30 cheaper. 1 email and they beat the Wotif price by 25%. Result Langham for $165 a night!
Booked via Radison Blu for AMS schipol. Wotif E35 cheaper. 2 emails (2nd with a threat to contact consumer affairs). Result Wotif beaten by 25%. Room+breakfast E88!
Rates-to-go or Hotelclub (can't remember which but they are same people) have twice done a price match. Once by matching reduced price over the phone. Other by a refund to Amex card.
In fact, I am now so confident that I often deliberately book the hotel website -those with a "price-beat" rather than "price-match" - and then pursue the 25% off claim.
I take screen shots of website and send URL as well.

Rates to Go has been cheaper recently.

I've called them up about a cheaper rate on wotif.com which they matched (no further discount) and I had to pay in advance.
